I received an early holiday present this month. As a Content Marketing Strategist, I look forward to reading Hootsuite’s Social Media Trends every year. The report summarizes findings from a survey of over 3,000 Hootsuite customers, and I love to read it because it validates a lot of the observations I’ve made, but I also love to think about how these trends apply to the way we approach recruitment marketing in the New Year.
It’s November, and if you’re anything like me, your social media feeds are full of people sharing their #30DaysofGratitude in honor of Thanksgiving this month.
It’s that time of year again. The leaves are starting to change, college hoodies are on trend, and pumpkin spice lattes are inundating your social media news feed. It’s the back-to-school season and that means change.
It’s also a great reminder that as professionals, we should never stop learning. When you work in recruitment marketing and social media, things are changing constantly, so if you don’t force yourself to be an eternal student, you’ll soon get left behind.
To make it easier for you, we’ve put together a syllabus with current content marketing trends.
We had such a good time reconnecting with our SRSC Tribe at the Social Recruiting Strategies Conference in Austin earlier this month.
Welcome to Memorial Day Weekend. As everyone sets their sights on the three day weekend to come, you’ll start to see all kinds of posts on social media with people showcasing what they’re doing with their time off and brands announcing Memorial Day Sales.
But that isn’t the reason why Memorial Day was established in the first place, is it? We all know that Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember our fallen war heroes, and we think that it’s our duty to keep any social posts about the holiday focused on that point. We are in debt to the people who died for our freedom. Let’s honor the sacrifice of those we’ve lost by remembering the people that they were.
So in that light, we’re taking a break from being a bit slap-stick and punny this week as we give you the #NowTrending update.
