If you’re anything like us, you’re probably setting your sights on the end of the workday and the official kick-off to the weekend. In fact, we like Friday at 5 so much, we’re hosting a contest to have people share what #MyFridayat5 looks like, and entrants will have a chance to win a pair of Beats Headphones! Click here for more info!I don’t know about you, but leaving the office on a Friday often feels like this.

Something else we like to do on Fridays is look at the content marketing trends for the week, and we like to do it in a fun way. And because that GIF got us all nostalgic for some Chevy Chase humor, here are your weekly trends, along with our favorite Chevy Chase movie quotes.

“If I woke up tomorrow morning with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am now.” For the first time in 10 years, Facebook usage is declining for Americans. This comes as users are moving to other platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat. They had to reach near-saturation at some point, but don’t forget that Facebook owns Instagram, so they’re not hurting for users. Or cash.

"Remember Danny—two wrongs don’t make a right but three rights make a left.” And three dimensions appear to be the way of the future for social graphics. Facebook is making updates to 3D posting capabilities. Though it currently takes a technical genius to design a 3D post, we assume the platform will work to make this a feature that more people can use.

"No one likes a tattletale, Danny... except of course, me." We’ll go ahead and tattle. Bots are ruining it for everyone. The prevalence of bot use to inflate numbers on Twitter have pushed the platform to introduce new rules to address spam and automation. If your company has several handles, make sure you’re not using a scheduling tool to simultaneously posting identical or substantially similar content to multiple accounts at the same time.

"Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?" Snapchat is offering its users a GIF(t): They’re finally allowing users to include GIFs in Snapchat Stories. You may have noticed that we like GIFs. A lot.

“I always fly first class. To remind myself.” Reddit might not be considered first class in the realm of social media advertising, but they’re upping their ad game by adding options for ad objectives and making ad groups available. Although Reddit doesn’t get as much consideration as other social platforms,  330+ million users is nothing to sneeze at.

"Oh, the silent majesty of a winter's morn... the clean, cool chill of the holiday air... an ******* in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer." The chemical toilet we’re thinking of are the really annoying ads on Google Chrome. After surveying users to find 12 ad formats that were especially annoying, Google Chrome introduced the Better Ads Standard test to assess a website’s eligibility and execute ad blocking.

With that, we wish you a lovely weekend and hope that we’ve also inspired you to watch a Chevy Chase classic movie.
